Bio: Recently graduating from Mississippi State, Arthur moved to Dallas to attend grad school at UT Dallas. Arthur is ready at any moment to impress women; always carrying with him his award “Player-of-the-Year: Bama Section.”

Position: Offensive Cutter/Handler

Bio: Playing for Dallas’ secondary team, Crude, for several years, Bill has elevated his overall game to earn his roster spot with Grit for the 2009 season. Bill is easily seen on the ultimate field, not because of his 6’3” frame, but rather his ritual of eating whole chickens and three-foot-long loaves of bread to carb up during tournaments.

Nickname: Dr. Brian P. Mente, Podiatrist

Position: Offensive deep; defensive giant

Bio: After joining DU in 2005, Brian has become a core member of the organization.  Off the field, Brian is a 30-year-old engineer, designing wind turbines to help save our planet from the threat of global warming.  On the field, he is one of Grit's defensive captains. When the moon is full, point your ears towards Blackburn and Central and you will often hear the faint howls of the elusive, 405.

Position: Defense

Bio: A three-year, Grit veteran and Texas alum, Caleb spends his days playing 1-on-1 basketball with the justice system on an 8-foot goal. Opponents beware, hand-block this Hughes & Luce lawyer and you’ll find yourself with a subpoena and seeerrrrrrved son.

Bio: After playing D-III football for Rhodes College, CW joined Dallas United in 2005. Captaining for three years, his ability to transform from Goldman Sachs asset manager to Red Bull-infused, motivational giant is nothing short of an inspiration for the Dallas premier team, Grit. Beware of nights where a full moon hangs above Dallas’ Uptown – the howls from Blackburn and Central beckon to reunite the mysterious 405.

Bio: Daniel Bess comes to Dallas from Iowa Park, Texas. With a titanic population of just over 7,000, Daniel is hailed as a celebrity for achieving a Masters in Education from TCU. A high school science teacher, Bess plays ultimate frisbee in hopes to bring prestige and fame back to his home town.

Bio: Recently married, David attends UT Arlington where he helped start the regionals-level ultimate frisbee team, Yucca.  Self-taught and self-disciplined, if you ask him, this man will made it rain. His UTA followers call him, “Papa Brindley.”

Bio: D-Rich is known throughout the country for his handling skills and leading UNT to nationals in 2008. However, he is better known for that one guy he skied at Heatout in Louisiana in 2008.

Bio: Finishing his freshman year with UT’s ultimate team, TUFF, Gary has joined Dallas for the 2009 season. It was uncertain in the beginning of the year if this sprinter would join the Dallas team after Gary was issued a restraining order by a woman who made a crack about him being faster than a speeding bullet.

Nickname: Prince of Uptown, Showcase

Position: Defense

Bio: A standout player at OU, Hugh moved to Dallas to pursue his modeling career and elevate the social status of Grit. Often hailed as the most interesting man in the Metroplex, people hang on his every word; even the prepositions. “You’ve Been Princed.”

Bio: At the brisk, young age of 39, James has moved from New York to play with Dallas Grit. Bringing years of experience to the team, James stays limber with the help of his wife, a former Russian ballet dancer.

 

 

Name: Jeremy Llewellyn

Position: Defensive Handler

Bio: Jeremy has played for UNT for three years, and Grit for two. Boasting the world’s ugliest hat, Jeremy is often seen prancing down the field rather than sprinting. His favorite throw is “el scorpion” - a behind-the-back push-pass that shares the same name as his perferred position in bed.

Bio: Jibba-Jiboo disappointedly moved to Texas after his glory years of playing with OU. Jibba enjoys ice fishing, break dancing and combating communism. Turn offs include: Hugh Grant films, undercooked meat and beer with an alcohol content higher than 3.5%.

Bio: Currently working in the healthcare industry, Justin moved to Fort Worth after graduating from the University of Richmond. He has played for Dallas Grit since 2007, and spends his nights calculating the next pass of Halley’s Comet.

Bio: Kevin attended school at Oklahoma University and moved to Texas to play with Dallas Grit. Renowned for his picture-perfect throws, his greatest skill is using hats and oversized shirts to hide his rapidly aging body.

Bio: Leading UNT to nationals in 2008, K-Rich is currently working out a deal as the main  character for a romance novel series entitled, “The Price of Love.” Kevin has played for Dallas club teams since 2005 was voted as the south’s All-Region Player for 2008 and 2009.

Bio: Moving from the catwalks of New York to the pistol-dueling styles of Dallas, Matt has acclimated well. Bringing experience to Grit from his college national days with William & Mary as well as his club years with PoNY and New York New York, Matt has found his niche in life as a beauty consultant.
